Apple's iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia and watchOS 11 public betas are ready to download

Apple's first 2024 public betas have arrived. You can now install early builds of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, watchOS 11 and macOS Sequoia to preview Apple's software updates before their official arrival this fall. You just need to enroll your Apple ID (soon-to-be Apple Account) in the Apple Beta Software Program to join the pre-release fun. Although it won't be available in beta until the fall, Apple's take on generative AI -- Apple Intelligence (get it?) Intertwined in each platform's 2024 software, Apple Intelligence is a blend of on-device and cloud processing, and it includes optional ChatGPT integration.

Today's keynote for Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference teased a lot of what users can expect later this year when all of its major software updates roll out. Big changes coming to iOS 18, macOS Sequoia and watchOS 11 include RCS support, a new Passwords app, a revamped Calculator app and a bunch of artificial intelligence (AI) infusions across the board thanks to the new "Apple Intelligence" system. If you weren't able to catch the news live, here's a rundown of everything announced at WWDC 2024. Apple revealed its plans to incorporate AI into its operating systems at WWDC this year. Dubbed "Apple Intelligence," this new generative AI system will appear in iOS and iPad 18 and macOS Sequoia in the form of (what Apple believes to be) practical tools that most people can use regularly.


watchOS 11 includes a new Vitals app to see all your key health metrics

A new app for the Apple Watch will help you get a better overall view of your health and fitness levels. It's called Vitals and it was announced on Monday at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), along with other features coming to watchOS 11. Vitals will synthesize data gathered as you sleep to give you a better understanding of your overall health. Using Apple Watch sensors along with data from the Apple Heart and Movement study it can track changes over time and give you a heads up when things look outside their normal range. The Cycle Tracking app can now give you insights during pregnancy with applicable health data throughout the duration of your pregnancy.
